Free Days in Wales

Hi! This is Toshiki from EDC3. How is your vacation?
Two weeks in Wales went by quickly.

Last week, I had free days. First day, I went to Bath in Southern England with my friends. A word 'bath' has its origin in Bath. The City of Bath is inscribed as a World Heritage Site. It's surprising that whole the city is a World Heritage Site. We went there by train. The train was slow, and sometimes stopped at non-stations. It took longer time to go there than we had expected, so we got tired before arriving there...

However, the City of Bath was great! The rows of houses along the street were elegant. We enjoyed walking around the city. First, we visited the Bath Abbey. It's an old and big church. The inside was so beautiful. We saw some monuments, stained glasses, and organs. They all were beautiful.

Next, we visited the Roman Bath. It's amazing that hot water has been springing for over 2,000 years! I want to take such a great bath someday!

Next weekend, we'll go to London! I'm looking forward to visiting many spots.

Aquarium

Hi! This is Hazuki.
How are you doing?

Recently, I went to Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium.
I went there last year but I wanted to go there again.

I want to see well and take a photograph creatures of sea,
but I couldn't do that because there was very crowded.
(I could take few photographs.)
I regretted it.

I want to go there again when there is not crowded next time.

Shower Climbing

Hi! this is Nana from EDC3.

how is your summer vacation?

On August 24^th, I went to Tenryu-river to shower climbing with my friend.

Do you know shower climbing?

That is a kind of pleasure in nature, climb the river from downstream to upper steam.

Everyone must wear wet-suit, helmet, life jacket, and dedicated shoes.

The dedicated shoes have felt on bottom of it, so it is easy to grasp ground.

First, everyone jumped into the plunge pool from low point, then only few people jumped into the plunge pool from 3~4meter height. I tried both of it! It was very thrilling!!

Other thrilling point was climbing the fall which has nearly 90-degree.

What I can use ware rope and very thin ladder. Of course, every one used safety rope.

Every participant can achieve goal safety and joyfully!!

Through shower climbing, I used many muscles which I didn’t use usually.

Therefore I had a serious muscle ache;;

Fireworks

Hi, this is Yaemi from EDC3.
How are you everyone?










Last week, I set off fireworks at Nakatajima Sand Dunes with my friends.
It was a long time for me since I set them off, and it was the first time to did them at Nakatajima.

It was very very hard to walk on the Dunes, so I was tired.

We set off many kinds of fireworks.
For example, toy sparklers, rockets, nezumi hanabi and so on.

When we set off sparklers, we competed.

The person who kept the fire longer was a winner.
To my regret, I wasn't able to win!!

I had a very very good time!!
I hope to set off fireworks again this summer!!

My first week in Wales

Hi! This is Toshiki from EDC3. How is your summer vacation?

I'm in Wales for English program. My first week there went by quickly. Everything I see there is new for me! The weather is so changeable; it gets warm or cold, and it suddenly starts to rain. Wales is blessed by nature, so I can see the beautiful scenery in many places.


English classes are fun! Kelly is an English tutor, and Kathleen is a British Culture tutor. They're good teachers. Kelly teaches us some Welsh phrases. For example, 'Thank you' is 'Diolch' in Welsh. The pronunciation is so difficult, but interesting.

British food is so different from Japanese food. I eat many potatoes at every lunch and dinner. Everyday I see chips, chips, chips, chips, chips! I should have brought some miso soup...
There is a big supermarket TESCO near the university. I can buy anything I want there. Of course, many potatoes are sold, and the department is larger than the other! I miss Japanese food, but British food is delicious.

Free days are coming, and I'm planning where to go with my friends. There are many attractive spots I want to visit! Next post will be about free days.

Today I had classes till 8 p. m. , so I was so tired. I'm going to sleep.

Trip to Osaka

Hello!
I'm Mayu from EDC3.
Do you enjoy your summer vacation?
I enjoy my summer vacation!!

Last week, I went to Osaka with my sister.
It was very hot, but I visited many places.
I am going to talk about Osaka Castle, Adventure World (in Wakayama), and Tutenkaku.

First, I visited Osaka Castle.


Do you know ''Gou'' (TV drama)?
This castle was built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and he is a key person in this TV drama.
I watch this TV drama,too, so I was excited.

Next day, I went to Adventure World in Wakayama.
There are many pandas!! They were very cute!!
I love pandas and I wanted taking many pictures,
but there were a lot of people, so I couldn't take many pictures...
However, pandas were very very cute!!!
I was very happy☆

Last day, I visited Tutenkaku. It is a very high tower.
I did not know that Tutenkaku has very long history.
Do you know that the designer of Tokyo Tower and Tutenkaku is same person?
And the view from this tower was very good!!

I stayed in Osaka only for 3 days, it was very short.
I want to go to Osaka again!

August 6 Yokohama Reggae Sai 2011 "RESPECT"

Hi, this is Kohei. How are you doing?:)

I went to Yokohama Stadium and participated in Yokohama Reggae Festival 2011 with my friends.

There were many people that participate in this festival!

About thirty thousand participant was coming!!!

Many famous reggae dee-jay(singer) sing songs.

They makes us very exciting!!!
It was very hot!!!!!!

I was very tired and it was very hot day,

but very enjoyable, exciting, and happy day:)

I keep enjoying the summer vacation!
